EXPERIENCE

Laura qualified as a physiotherapist in 2008, transitioning into the field of rehabilitation case management in 2019. Over the past six years she has integrated her extensive knowledge of adult and paediatric pathologies, client recovery pathways and complex discharge planning skills into the field of complex catastrophic and multi trauma  case management .

During her physiotherapy career Laura worked within a multitude of private and NHS settings, including NHS rapid response, rugby league, neuro rehabilitation, trauma orthopaedics, and outpatients. Laura also worked as a specialist physiotherapist implementing spinal and shoulder triage pathways, post operative reviews, and requesting investigatory imaging . Within case management Laura applies these clinical experiences  to facilitate a clients maximal recovery, giving consideration to both psychological and physical elements. Her  knowledge of private and NHS services enables a vast spectrum of  treatment and alternative provisions to be considered, enabling day to day challenges or barriers to be overcome.

Throughout her clinical and case management career Laura has worked within neurological rehabilitation unit’s, various neurological and musculoskeletal children’s services (age 0-19) and assisted clients of various ages post brain injury or birth related trauma.

Laura offers a compassionate approach to clients and families, building rapport and trusting relationships, guiding them through their rehabilitation, educational and vocational journeys. She is skilled in the provision of specialist equipment, co- ordinating care packages and development of Educational Health and Care Plans. Through extensive multi -agency working across health and education Laura is skilled in co-ordinating complex multi – agency care, working relentlessly to bring clients, their families, and external services together to ensure the clients ultimate goal is achieved in both the short and long term. This maybe in relation to their independence, ability to communicate or psychological wellbeing. Laura is passionate about meeting all the clients needs and can often be found working in close collaboration with assistive technology services to assist with the implementation of additional communication aids or technology that assists activities of daily living such as organisational skills, memory prompts and safety aids.

Laura strives to ensure each individual has access and provisions to sustain the quality of life they desire, whether  it be functional , academic or work related. She is able to identify when a work site evaluation, vocational support and or educational adjustments are required , assisting each individual with their transition , signposting and referring onto external professionals where required.

She applies her case management and clinical experiences to accurately forecast recovery timeframes and support clients recovery in a timely and cost effective manner.

She is extremely conscientious and pro - active in her work and will always go the extra mile to assist in a client’s recovery whilst maintaining professional boundaries.

PERSONAL PROFILE

Laura enjoys an active life style, she and her partner have a young son together and an energetic spaniel . The four of them can often be found enjoying the great outdoors with a spot of camping or extreme sports.
