*Female Support Worker

We are seeking a support worker who is bubbly, outgoing and flexible to support our client, a 10-year-old girl who has Cerebral Palsy, living with her family in the Rochdale area.

Our client benefits from support in the evenings, weekends and school holidays.  She has mobility difficulties, a visual impairment and communication difficulties.  She communicates by gestures, hand pointing and her communication device. You will be working closely with therapists to carry out therapy care plans, assisting her with personal care, suctioning her airways when needed, and providing food and medication via a PEG. All training is given for this role and parents are closely involved.

During her time away from school she enjoys going out in community and taking part in outdoor activities. She loves to access hydrotherapy and is looking for a support worker who can join in the fun.

Typical shifts available:

Term Time:

Before school 07:30am – 09:00am – Monday - Friday

After school 3:00pm – 7:00pm - Monday - Friday

Weekends 11:00am – 2:00pm or 2:00pm – 6:00pm

School Holidays

10:00am – 6:00pm

In this role your responsibilities include:

• Enjoying a range of fun, interactive activities in the home, and out and about in the community

• Assisting with personal care and feeding

• Working with the family and case manager providing support, care and therapy.

• Working with therapists to carry out their programmes

Competitive rates of pay.

An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise, the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult and Child Workforce Barring.  Full training will be provided. A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
