Bank *Female Support Worker

We are recruiting an enthusiastic and caring bank rehab assistant/support worker who has experience of working with young adults with additional needs. This is an ideal role for someone interested or studying in the fields of brain injury rehabilitation, psychology, occupational therapy or physiotherapy. You will be working with an outgoing, adventurous young lady, who has Cerebral Palsy living in the Tewkesbury area.

You will be responsible for enabling the client to lead a fulfilling social life, including enabling access to university, enabling the client to develop and maintain meaningful friendships, assisting in researching, planning, booking and taking part in fun activities with friends.

The role may also include weekend day trips, longer trips around the UK, and trips abroad. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with activities of daily living, including personal care, domestic tasks, maximising the client’s physical and psychological well-being, and maintaining safety at all times.

The bank Support Worker will be required to cover shifts as required, staff holidays and sickness.  They should be flexible and willing to deal with the day to day needs of the family. Hours will include weekends and evenings, and more hours are available during school holidays.

Our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible.

An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult Workforce Barring.  Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential.
