Complex Care Support Worker


Our client has complex care needs, and we require support workers, who are able to ensure that a high standard of effective care is delivered, that is based on empathy, respect and compassion. You will be expected to develop a professional relationship with his parents and ensure that they have time to remain as parents rather than being a
required part of his care.

Care will be provided on a 2:1 basis. You will support our client to meet all his daily activities of daily living, which includes attending school and taking part in a range of activities.

You will assist our client to maintain his health status and progress aspects of development by implementing the given strategies set out by the various therapists. The complex care tasks include PEG feeding, oral suctioning, administration of medications via a PEG, seizure management and the prevention of aspiration.

Working hours: We require full-time, part-time and bank staff for our client and are looking to recruit multiple candidates. Shifts are to be organised in a 12-hour pattern, 08:00am-20:00pm and 20:00pm-08:00am.

Our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible.

Experience with complex care delivery, for example: PEG feeding, seizure management, oropharyngeal suctioning would be desirable but is not essential.

Candidates with 1+ year of care experience, good communication skills and a willingness to undertake training will be considered.

An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential.
