Rehabilitation Support Worker

Ref: GJ/DJ 2

Dynamic and enthusiastic full time, part time and bank support workers required, ideally experienced in brain injury and complex care, required for a 35-year-old gentleman who was involved in a road traffic collision sustaining a number of complex injuries.

If you are creative, an animal lover and love the outdoors, you would be an ideal fit to assist our client in accessing the community, supporting him with fun activities which will stimulate him and support his rehabilitation.

Although prior experience in care would be beneficial, if you can demonstrate a genuine caring profile and are interested in a career in care and rehabilitation, we provide full training, and a welcoming support team is already in place. You will be working in the family home, closely with the client’s parents, support team and specialist therapists.

Our client is classified to be in a low awareness state. He is physically, functionally, and cognitively dependent on others to meet his needs. He is gradually becoming much more responsive and is aware of people he is close to and his surroundings.

As well as care and support, you will be trained by the therapists to be able to carry out a rehabilitation programme. The therapy team includes an Occupational Therapist (OT), Neuro Physiotherapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Music Therapist and a Massage Therapist.

Working hours: Full-time, part-time and bank positions are available.

Our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible.

An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise, the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult Workforce Barring.  Full training will be provided. A full clean driving licence is essential.
