Support Worker

Full-time Support Worker required preferably with experience of SEN, but not essential, to support our client who is an 18-year-old with complex medical needs living in Taunton.


A great opportunity to be working alongside an energetic young man and his family, in their own home. Our client is looking for someone who is kind, caring and ideally has some experience of SEN, in addition to experience of working with children and young people with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.


The role will involve some aspects of personal care (not all). You will be working alongside other support workers doubling up, although some shifts may be lone working.


The hours are 36 hours per week to include day shifts, evening shifts and waking nights. Evening shifts will include taking our client to football practice, disability disco and other activities. Weekends will be chill time, days out, taking him to football matches and day care activities. Additional hours may also be available.


A typical shift pattern would look like:


Week one:

1 x Weekday shift 12hrs

1 x 12hr Waking Night shift

2 x Evening shifts (4-10pm)


Week two:

2 x Weekend Day shifts (12hrs x 2)

2 x Evening shifts (4-10pm)


Our client seeks someone who is well organised, flexible, and can fit into a loving family environment, and has had experience of working with clients with special needs.
