Our client is a vulnerable adult who requires support with cognitive tasks, emotional and behavioural issues, community access, development of leisure time interests, relationships and day to day activities, in order that he can lead as positive and fulfilling a life as possible since his brain injury.
The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the client, promoting and enabling engagement with a regular routine of fulfilling activities. The role will focus on helping the client to plan and complete weekly shopping for groceries, household items and clothing; to support the client to attend the gym and explore and trial new leisure activities that could be of interest; to support the client with dating in a safe and healthy manner; and to support with socialising and building and maintaining meaningful relationships.
You will work with the client’s case management and therapy team to ensure a unified approach is maintained in order to positively engage the client in all aspects of his life. You will need to have a resilient and robust personality with a positive attitude and outlook on life. You will need to be empathetic, understanding and non-judgemental.
Working hours: 12 hours per week, as 2x 6-hour shifts or sometimes one longer shift and one shorter shift. Mondays and Thursdays would be suitable, but this can be flexible and negotiable. Overtime may be available.
Our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible.
An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise, the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential.
