*Female Holiday Support Worker

*Bank Female Paediatric Support Workers required for a young girl aged 16 who has cerebral palsy, who has a holiday home in Wadebridge, Cornwall.
We are looking for an enthusiastic paediatric bank support worker to provide dedicated quality, flexible support. This will be predominantly overnight shifts on a waking night basis, but we may require some daytime support.
Support is delivered to the client within her family’s holiday home. She already has her own dedicated support team who deliver support and care to the highest standard. This includes delivering personal care, therapy programmes and promoting access to leisure opportunities.
We can offer you competitive rates of pay, full training, supervision and developmental opportunities. The need for support will be planned and hours to be worked negotiated. This will predominantly be during school holidays but as the client progresses into adulthood the support may be required at other times of the year.
Applicants must be patient, warm, caring, reliable and trustworthy and be able to work as part of a team.
You will also be expected to use information technology such as email, intranet, electronic records etc. All training and support will be provided as necessary and you are expected to maintain your IT skills for you to carry out your duties.
Experience using Makaton and PEG feeding would be desirable, but not essential as training is given as well as on the job learning.
This is a bank position however the client expects to use their holiday home on a regular basis. The request for support will be made in advance and shift cover will be negotiated to suit all parties.
Rates of pay £14.00 per hour Monday to Friday to include days, nights (waking nights), £16.00 per hour Saturday and Sunday to include days, nights (waking nights). Bank holidays paid at £19.00 per hour.
Applicants with experience of caring for children or adolescents with physical or learning disabilities, and an NVQ (or equivalent) in care would be preferred, although this is not essential as full training, supervision and support will be provided to someone who wishes to start a career in care.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Child Workforce Barring. A full driving licence is essential, and applicants must be prepared to drive the client’s vehicle.
