*Female Personal Assistant/Support Worker
Would you like to use your care and therapeutic skills to support a delightful young lady in her home environment? We are seeking a flexible, patient, enthusiastic, caring and alert Personal Assistant/Support Worker for our client.
Our client is an engaging young lady who has complex needs, she has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and learning difficulties. She resides in a fully adapted house with her parents, four younger siblings and three exuberant dogs!
Our client requires one to one support after college hours to carry out her personal care and therapy programme, in addition to support at weekends and holidays to enable her to participate in leisure and social activities.
The successful applicant will follow the therapy programmes which are written and regularly updated by her therapy team. You will also entertain her with appropriate recreational activities including swimming in an adapted pool at her home.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated person to develop existing skills and support this young lady.
Experience of working with children/young adults with physical and learning difficulties is desirable.
Whilst experience in care work is an essential requirement for this post, training will be given in areas where the successful applicant may not have such skills. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced nurses and carers and also with treating therapists. You will receive regular supervision and there is also the potential for further training and career development.
Working hours: 20-30 hours per week, 5.00pm – 9.00pm weekdays, weekend hours are negotiable.
An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential as you will be required to drive our clients adapted vehicle, subject to being accepted on the insurance.
