Personal Assistant/Support Worker
The successful applicants will help the family manage her day to day physical needs by including her in activities such as baking, schoolwork, being outdoors, caring for the family pet dog and assisting with dog walking.
Night support is also required to assist with personal care and getting her ready for bed. The client may wake for sips of water or to adjust the duvet during the night. Night support will also start the next day by getting our client ready for school and drive her there.
Weekend days will be a mixture of school work, leisure and therapy. Each weekend is different.
Weekend nights will be similar as weekday night except no school run.
The support team will be supported by parents and treating therapist.
There are a variety of contracted positions and Bank positions available, covering the following hours:
- Weekday term-time shifts 3pm to 8pm.
- School holidays 9.30am to 8pm.
- Friday night 8.00pm to 10.30am.
- Saturday day 10.30am to 7.30pm.
- Saturday night 7.30pm to 10.30am.
- Sunday day 10.30am to 6.30pm.
- Sunday night 6.30pm – 9.30am.
There is some degree of flexibility to shifts start and finish times.
Our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible.
An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is desirable, but not essential.
