Therapy Assistant/Buddy

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and energetic therapy assistant/buddy who is committed to making a difference to the development and rehabilitation of a young persons’ life.

The successful candidate will be passionate about working with young people and supporting our client to develop and reach his full potential.  

Our client is keen on ball games, the great outdoors and loves animals and playing with his friends and siblings.

The role will be focused on play and the fun delivery of therapy programmes including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy and completing school homework. This may also include hydrotherapy, horse riding, sport and physical play, e.g. riding a bike.

If you are physically fit, love working with young people and passionate about rehabilitation this is the role for you.

Previous experience of working with children and young people is essential along with sing along signs and Makaton.

Hours are 20 hours per week, which encompass five morning sessions, two after school sessions and one weekend session. We anticipate this may increase over time to some further  weekend support and school holiday support.

Our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible.

An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Child Workforce Barring.  Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential.
