*Male Buddy/Support Worker
Our client is seeking an energetic, fun and patient individual to support him to access leisure and sporting activities after his school day finishes.
He has a great sense of humour, a love of animals, especially his pet dog and all things to do with the Titanic.
He is looking for someone who can help him enjoy the outdoors, go on bike rides, build campfires and dens and he is also keen to try fishing. He enjoys being involved in building and fixing things. He also likes playing with remote controlled vehicles and it would be advantageous for the successful candidate to have skills to help him develop his model train set.
The role would suit a kind and warm individual who would ensure that his therapy strategies are implemented, in an enjoyable way through and during a range of fun and purposeful activities.
The ultimate goal is to enable our client to lead as fulfilling a life as possible, maximising his physical and psychological well-being and progressing his independence.
Applicants must have experience working with teenagers with special educational needs and also competent in riding a bicycle and swimming.
Working hours: 12 hours per week, which will encompass 3 to 4 afternoons/evenings.
Our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible.
An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential.
