*Female Rehabilitation/Therapy Assistant
Our client is looking to recruit a rehabilitation/therapy assistant to support him in all daily activities, but specifically his daily therapy. He has regular physiotherapy and occupational therapy from a private therapy team, but he needs intensive daily input to enhance his posture and physical skills.
Other tasks will include assisting with all self-care and leisure activities.
The successful applicant will be working in his family home alongside another carer, his parents and his younger sibling. In addition, you will be expected to administer nutrition and medication through his PEG and ensure he is comfortable. You will be confident in managing his epilepsy and know when to seek assistance. All training will be provided prior to commencement in post.
Applicants must have previous therapy experience and working with children who have profound and multiple learning difficulties would be an advantage, but not a requirement, as would a Tamil speaking individual.
Working hours: 36 hours per week. Day shifts are 09.00am to 21.00pm and night shifts are 21.00pm to 09.00am.
Our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible.
An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Child Workforce Barring. A full driving licence is essential.
