*Female Band 5 RSCN/RN Child Community Nurse/TL
The successful applicant will support the client in all daily activities. This includes self-care, daily therapy and leisure. You will be working in his family home alongside another carer, his parents and his younger sibling. You will be expected to administer nutrition and medication through our client’s PEG and ensure he is comfortable. You will be confident in managing his epilepsy and know when to seek assistance. All training will be provided prior to commencement in post.
You will be happy to work as a team and be self-motivated and committed with initiative. You will lead a team of 6 support staff, ensuring they are meeting their competencies and offering them quarterly supervision. You will be confident advising on changes required to our clients care plan and keep all care paperwork updated.
It is essential that you have a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience in caring for children and young adults who have profound and multiple learning difficulties.
The ability to speak Tamil would be desirable, however it is not a requirement of the role.
Working hours: 48 hours per week, to include both days and nights.
Our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible.
An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential.
