Experienced *Female Childrens Support Worker/Buddy

Experienced *Female Children’s Support Workers/Buddies required for a young girl who has a brain injury living in the Hornchurch area.

Our client is a delightful 8-year-old girl who sustained brain damage at birth and is suffering from developmental delay. She has mild behavioural difficulties and challenges with developing her social skills.

We seek experienced children’s support workers to work with our client in a supportive way within the family home providing a buddy role to the child and assistance to her parents.

Our client requires support from a support worker to provide assistance with her personal care and building her independence in all areas.

The support worker will also be responsible for taking her to and from school with mum.

You will be developing and implementing an activities timetable in collaboration with her parents and be involved in engaging with a home activities programme, after school clubs, board games and outdoor activities.

The client is very physically active, and you MUST be energetic and active for this position.

You will support her to engage with her therapy programmes and work alongside therapists. Training will be provided to enable you to support our client.

We also welcome applicants who have a therapy or educational background or you may be a student nurse or therapist.

The support worker will be expected to attend all training that will be client specific. High standards of documentation will be expected, and IT skills are essential.

Working hours: There are both full-time and part-time positions available. Full-time hours will include split shifts. Applicants must be prepared to also work weekends.

This must be applicants only job due to family preference and risk from Covid-19.

Our client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible.

An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential.
