Experienced Support Worker/Buddy
Although he needs support to keep him safe, he needs a buddy, not a carer. He wants somebody to have fun with and to share and enjoy activities with, including going to the gym and playing cricket, football, snooker and other sports. You would be supporting his independence by following rehabilitation programmes set by a private therapy team.
The job also involves accompanying him on holiday, supporting him to carry out his part-time work and to take medication. We need an organised, flexible person who loves animals and is able to fit in with a family environment.
Working hours: 160 hours over a 4-week period, daytimes, evenings, weekends andsleep-in shifts.
Our client seeks someone who is well organised, flexible and has experience and enthusiasm for working with young people with a brain injury.
An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.
All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential.
