Nicola has attended a number of courses relating to rehabilitation, brain injury in the family, sex and sexuality following acquired brain injury and has undergone an introductory course in Psychoanalytic Theories & Concept at Severnside Institute for Psychotherapy.

Nicola has recently been offered a place to study for a Masters in Psychotherapy and the use of the Arts in therapy.


Following a corporate career and then working with children in a therapeutic setting, Nicola has worked with brain injured clients since January 2007. Initially as a support worker and then as a team leader, she then progressed further to her current role as Senior Case Manager Assistant.

Nicola works with adults, children and families. She has followed the Community Case Management comprehensive case management training pathway. She therefore, has a full understanding of the litigation process and the importance of record keeping and documentation. The role includes making sure that appointed support workers are able to make full use of our documentation tem plates providing accurate and appropriate information that aids in the holistic presentation of the client's care needs.

For the last four years, Nicola has been a volunteer co-ordinator for the Silverlining Charity in Oxford where she helps organise many events and runs a weekly art group.

Nicola uses a client centred, therapeutic approach and has experience in setting up and managing 24hr care teams for clients with an acquired brain injury. She can communicate well with clients, their families, legal teams and all healthcare professionals.

Nicola manages support teams and supervises all aspects of running the home, organising holidays and activities as well as maintaining focus on ongoing rehabilitation to maximise potential and bring fun and fulfilment in everyday life. She thoroughly enjoys helping people to achieve their dreams and goals.

Nicola is currently collaborating with one client to write his story to increase awareness and learning around brain injury in young people. She is devising a training programme on the Key Components of Sensitive Practice based on her experience and the insights gained first hand.

Within Community Case Management Services, Nicola has enjoyed her part in organising the Breaking Boundaries Conference. This annual conference is an empowering day, full of inspirational stories and first hand accounts of how clients are breaking boundaries with support from CCMS Ltd over their lifetimes.

Nicola is an avid skier and has co-ordinated numerous CCMS ski trips for both adults and children, she has taken a group of CCMS clients to North Devon the enjoy the thrill and therapeutic advantages of adapted surfing!


Nicola is energetic with strong empathy and understanding. Her enthusiasm is helpful in motivating clients to move forward. She is highly creative and seeks to make a difference and add value in all that she does.

Nicola is very sociable and enjoys being out and about. She has two dogs so spends a lot of her free time walking them in the fresh air.

Nicola achieved a personal goal of hers to learn to ride a motorcycle before a "big" birthday and her next goal is to ride it across two continents! She also wants to learn to surf.
