Therapeutic Support Worker
Therapeutic Support Worker required for a Child living in Bourton on the Water.
The applicant will be required to work with our client and their family in a supportive role, encouraging him to participate in education, life skills and his rehabilitation programme.
Our client is a delightful 11 year old boy who sustained a brain damage as a result of a traumatic birth. He has cerebral palsy effecting all four limbs and is a wheelchair user. He requires 2 to 1 support for some activities. You will be part of a vibrant and dynamic team.
Our client requires support from a support worker to enable him throughout the day. He requires assistance with all his personal care needs and daily physiotherapy and weekly hydrotherapy.
Alongside his family, the support worker will also be responsible for developing and implementing an activities timetable. To include homework, swimming, board games, preparing simple meals, outings and outdoor activities.
He also enjoys dancing, scouts, going out for ice cream!
Working hours will be 15-20 hours per week. He will require care between the hours of 6am-9am and 4pm-9pm during the school term. He will also require care between 9pm and 6am. In the school holidays he will also require care between the hours of 9am-9pm.
All posts are subject to DBS Enhanced Disclosure. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential.
